Johego: Virtual Assistant for Social & Medical Services

Connecting people in need with social and medical services should be as easy as finding showtimes for movies. Johego is making that happen.

The Problem

Johego is dedicated to increasing the thread count of the social safety net so that fewer people slip through the cracks. In the US, there are nearly 23 million social workers, police officers, teachers, nurses, and other public servants who regularly connect people in need with the services they need. However, these professionals most frequently must rely on word-of-mouth referrals, paper directories, and hours upon hours of Googling to do so, resulting in inefficient and, in some cases, ineffective care.

The Solution

Johego uses cutting-edge data science, multi-platform software development, and grassroots community organizing to empower and inspire public service professionals and the general public to share relevant and reliable information about medical and social services with those who need it. The proposed project would build off Johego’s successful pilot program in rural Missouri, adding 2400 service providers to our directory and helping 700 more public service professionals connect 4900 people in need with the services they need.
