Save the Internet
A grassroots campaign to restore “Net Neutrality” and keep the Internet free and open.
The Problem
In December, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission voted along party lines to dismantle Net Neutrality, a set of rules that keep the internet free and open. The rules protected the right of anyone to share and access information of their choosing without interference. Without the rules, companies like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon are free to block or slow down any online content, including political speech they disagree with.
The Solution
The Net Neutrality rules were put in place, in 2015, only after millions of people signed petitions, bombarded the FCC with comments, called lawmakers and protested in the streets. Save the Internet, a campaign of the progressive nonprofit Free Press, aims to harness that same popular energy and determination to pressure lawmakers to “stand up for the open internet and for the digital civil rights of their constituents” by passing a "resolution of disapproval" reversing the FCC's vote.
