TreeSisters

TreeSisters is a global network led by women who fund the restoration of tropical forests as a collective expression of planetary care. As a feminine leadership and tropical reforestation organization, we exist to call forth the brilliance and generosity of people everywhere and channel it towards the trees.

The Problem

The capitalist system of the last few centuries has failed all of us. It has failed women. It has failed men. And, most of all, it has failed our environment. Nature has been decimated. Our current economic and political systems require that we extract and tear the fabric of mother nature to shreds. We act as this is normal. It is not. It is time for a new paradigm shift.

The Solution

The TreeSisters movement exists to bring forth collective responsibility in returning our planet to its natural state. The focus of the organization is on mass reforestation. Reforesting can help to reduce the amount of CO2 in the air because trees absorb CO2 and other harmful greenhouse gases. A single young tree can absorb 26 pounds of CO2 per year. In 2018, Tree Sisters funds the planting of over 1.9 million trees annually in Kenya, Madagascar, Brazil, and India. TreeSisters is growing to mobilize 2 million grassroots members in order to plant 1 billion trees annually.
