The Problem

If we are going to solve the world’s greatest problems - including education access, tolerance and inclusion, social justice, violence, gender equity - the single most powerful thing we must do is prepare a generation of young people with the skills and commitments to solve problems by connecting across lines of difference with compassion, standing up with courage, and creating collaborative change by leading with others. Right now there are 1.6 billion young people across the world, many with ideas on how to solve the world’s most entrenched problems yet few have access to the tools, mentors, and capital to turn their insights into reality.

The Solution

We have an unprecedented opportunity to unleash young people’s compassionate, courageous, collaborative creativity to change the world. The Peace First Challenge invites youth from around the world to identify a critical issue in their community and then – via an innovative digital platform - puts project design tools, mentors, and small start-up grants directly into their hands. Young people deepen their understanding of the issue and design and implement solutions with real community impact – and join a global coalition of youth committed to changing the world.
