The Problem

Too many young people in London emerge from school without the skills they need to succeed in life. 17,600 people between the ages of 18 and 24 in the city are claiming out-of-work benefits. In many cases, that's because they lack the skills and the confidence they need to reach their full potential. Traditional schooling doesn't adequately facilitate children's personal, social and educational development, setting them up for a lifetime of financial struggle and underachievement.

The Solution

New Ground Creations is a social enterprise that creates programs aimed at empowering children and young people to "develop their voice, influence and place in society and to reach their full potential." The organization offers assemblies, workshops, and courses in schools to improve young people's prospects in business and inspire social entrepreneurship, enabling them to become social change makers in their communities. Founder Pareece Rose's vision is “to see children supported from their foundation years developing into young people who are prepared to take the risk in experiencing their own innovative ideas, resilient in navigating their own paths, in the hopes of obtaining financial freedom in the future.”
