New Citizens = New Voters

Helping New Americans exercise their right to vote!

The Problem

After spending years working to obtain their citizenship, new US citizens are not automatically given the opportunity to register to vote upon naturalization. This means that New Americans are often left behind in the political process and unable to fully exercise their rights as new citizens.

The Solution

New Citizens = New Voters is a non-partisan project aimed at ensuring all new citizens are given the opportunity to register to vote and given the key information they need to exercise that right. The Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition organizes volunteers to attend every naturalization ceremony at the Philadelphia USCIS office to help register New American voters and then follows up with these new voters before the next election to ensure they understand their rights and know where to vote.
