Hate speech and abuse; politically biased content and outright propaganda; fake news networks; spoof websites; extreme clickbait: the torrent of harmful, misleading, and false information online corrodes democracy and free, informed debate, and undermines trust in the validity of the web.
The Solution
FACTMATA uses artificial intelligence, fact-checking communities, and expert knowledge to weed out fake news, hate speech, propaganda, and clickbait. In 2018, they plan to launch a news platform, dedicated to helping journalists, researchers and domain experts reach and inform the public. The London-based start-up’s ultimate goal is to be able to provide a real time quality and credibility score to any piece of content on the web.
