Native Nations Rise: Mobilizing the grassroots to stop Dakota Access Pipeline

description

A coalition of Tribal Nations defending indigenous rights and indigenous lands

The Problem

Just days after being sworn into office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to advance the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipeline would travel underneath the Missouri River, the primary drinking source of the Sioux Tribe. Native Nations Rise views the construction of the Dakota pipeline as a threat to their well-being and a direct assault on their sovereignty as a nation.

The Solution

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is working to mobilize allies across the United States to peacefully March on Washington DC. The purpose of the march is to protect the rights of Unci Maka (Grandmother Earth) for future generations.

Stage of Development
